Dear Residents,
For those with questions regarding this year’s election, the Association is now using a one-envelope system. After selecting your candidates, detach and discard the lower ballot portion with your name. Place the completed ballot in the blue return envelope. Please include your return address on the envelope so voter eligibility and good standing can be verified.
Once verified, the envelope will be placed face down and opened without displaying the voter’s selections. The empty envelope will be placed in one box, and the folded ballot will be placed in a separate box. The ballots will then be mixed before counting so they cannot be connected to the identifying envelopes.
This process verifies voter eligibility while maintaining anonymity, as required by N.J.A.C. 5:26-8.9(h)(3), which states that all ballots must be cast anonymously.
We hope this clarifies the process and assures residents that the election will be conducted securely, fairly, and transparently.
